June 7: Day with a Garbage Collector

Today I spent the day shadowing a garbage collector. We started early, lifting heavy bins and riding through tight streets. The smell was tough to handle at first, but I got used to it. What stood out most was how fast and focused the work had to be—there was no room for slowing down. People barely noticed us, even though their whole routine depended on this job getting done.
